Job Summary:
We are a Lake Oswego dental practice looking to hire a qualified dental assistant. We are looking for a caring, detail-oriented, focused, and energetic team player to provide excellent dental care for our patients. We are a general, family-oriented practice, value honesty over high-productions-goals, and try to have as much fun as possible in our day to day routine. Ideally, we’d like an assistant with at least one year’s experience, X-Ray certified in Oregon, and with an expanded functions certificate. Positive attitude and loving people is a must!
We are a private practice that uses Eaglesoft software.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and setting up equipment
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing other support as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays under the direction of the dentist
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
- Clean and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order as needed
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including anatomy, instrumentation, and materials
- Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
